Objectives
Following the successful FNDA2006 workshop held in 2006 at the University of
Cape Town, South Africa, this workshop has two main focuses.
First, it aims at reviewing recent developments in the construction of detectors and sources for neutrons at energies ranging from keV to GeV.
This includes the improved understanding of basic processes in materials used for neutron detection as well as techniques and
data relevant to modelling of neutron detectors and neutron sources.
The second focus will be a discussion on applications of fast neutron detectors in various fields of science and technology.
Both newly emerging applications and novel techniques in established fields will be presented. In addition, methods and
facilities for the production of fast neutrons will be discussed.
The ultimate goal of the workshop is to provide a forum for the exchange of information among the various communities that
employ fast neutrons to perform their respective tasks.
